Leak Detection Work in Pātea and Waverley
If you see some people in high-vis vests, walking the streets of Pātea and Waverley with what appears to be a listening device, don’t panic - it’s not the security services eavesdropping on your conversations!
They are in fact Council contractors checking for possible water leaks in the water reticulation network. This leak detection work will take about one week and covers around 40 km of water pipe. It’s all part of the Council’s programme to improve our water infrastructure by identifying, then repairing leaks in the system.
The Contractors carry full ID and all the vehicles are sign written and fitted with flashing beacons.
If you have any questions about this work just call the Council on 0800 111 323 and ask to speak to Lala.
