Please Boil Water

Routine tests have detected the possibility that the bacteria Escherichia coli (known as e-coli) may be in the Waimate West Water Supply.

As a precaution, we are advising that residents boil all water used for drinking, brushing teeth or for food preparation until further notice.

Bringing water to the boil is enough to kill all bugs (however, we recommend boiling water for about 1 minute).
Anyone showing symptoms of sickness should visit their doctor as soon as possible.

Council is in regular contact with Taumata Arawai and is taking action to return the supply to normal.
