South Taranaki District Council’s free community summer pool season opens on Monday 12 December. The free community pools based in Waverley, Pātea, Manaia, Kaponga, Rawhitiroa and Eltham are open from 3.30pm – 7pm during the school term and then open from 12noon – 7pm from 19 December when the school holiday hours begin. Weekends the pools are open from 12 noon -7pm and Public Holidays 12noon – 6pm. All pools are patrolled by lifeguards however all children under the age of 8 must be actively supervised by a caregiver 16 years or older. The community pools are a free service brought to the community by the South Taranaki District Council.
