Waverley residents - please continue to use water wisely
Update - Friday 23 December
Dear Waverley resident,
We just wanted to update you on progress replacing the pump in the town’s main water bore - there’s good news as the pump is now fixed.
We installed the new pump on Wednesday and have conducted tests to ensure that everything is working properly. As of this morning, the tests have come back clear.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we repaired the bore pump.
Your continued water conservation efforts are always important and do make a difference, so please continue to use water wisely so there’s enough to go around over the holiday period.

Update - Friday 16 December
Dear Waverley resident,
We just wanted to update you on Tuesday’s notice about the pump failure in Waverley’s main water bore.
At the moment we are supplementing the water supply using our two back up bores and there is enough to go around, however you still need to conserve water wherever possible.
We have been able to get a new pump which is due to arrive next week. So depending on when it arrives will dictate whether it is able to be installed before Christmas or in the New Year. We are working hard to get this sorted as soon as possible.
Conservation efforts do make a difference, so please continue to:
- Use water wisely
- Do not water your garden, house, car, driveway with hose or sprinklers
- Do not fill up any swimming pools
- Fix any leaks or dripping taps on your property
We will deliver another update when we know more.

Tuesday 13 December
Due to an unexpected mechanical pump failure in our main water bore, we are asking Waverley residents to urgently conserve water. Because the pump is over 100m below the ground, this is not a quick fix.
To ensure there is enough water to go around:
- Only use water when essential
- Do not water your garden, house, car, driveway with hose or sprinklers
- Do not fill up any swimming pools
We are requesting that you urgently fix any leaks and dripping taps around your property.
We will deliver another update to you on Friday 16 December.
