Free Waste-Ed Business Workshop with Kate
South Taranaki District Council is bringing the ever-popular Kate Fenwick (formerly Meads) to town for a free workshop to help our local businesses reduce their waste, care for our beautiful environment and save money along the way.
This workshop, held on Tuesday 31 October from 5.30pm at the Memorial Theatre Lounge in Hāwera, aims to address the challenges and barriers that companies often face when striving to implement sustainable behaviour within their organisation, as well as strategies to deal with avoidable waste as a result of their business activities.
The session will focus on waste minimisation and explore how to employ measurable waste reduction practices in the workplace. Additionally, they will explore ways to overcome the common challenges of gaining buy-in from both staff and stakeholders.
For over 16 years, Kate Fenwick has been delivering entertaining and inspiring waste minimisation events and campaigns across the country at countless towns and cities.
Kate doesn’t preach about being “completely waste free”, rather focuses on educating and inspiring participants on a variety of changes they could make every day.
”You don’t have to be an environmental superhero - you just have to do something small that will make a difference,” says Kate.
Spaces are limited, so email envirosus@stdc.govt.nz to register your interest for this free workshop by the end of day on Monday 24 October. Drinks and nibbles are provided.
