Community engagement on future education for Hāwera and South Taranaki
The Ministry of Education is currently working on plans for future schooling in Hāwera and the wider South Taranaki area.
The Ministry is committed to investing in the property at Hāwera Intermediate and Hāwera High School. A number of workshops relating to this were held in Term 1 with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
The ideas and themes generated through this first phase of engagement have been used to develop an online survey that will make it possible to identify which options and ideas have a wider base of support.
The online survey is open until Sunday 21 June and includes six potential options for future schooling in the area.
Information on the options and a link to the online survey can be accessed here.
If you would like to complete the survey online but do not have access to a device or the internet, the computer labs at Hāwera High School are available for you to complete the survey in the following timeslots:
- Tuesday 9 June, 5.30pm – 7pm
- Thursday 11 June, 5.30pm – 7pm
These are drop-in sessions, so you can turn up at any time during these sessions.
If you’d prefer to complete a hard copy of the survey, you can pick one up from local schools, the Council's Administration Building and the Hāwera LibraryPlus.
