Arts in the Park this weekend
On Saturday 5 December, Hāwera’s picturesque King Edward Park will once again come alive with the popular Arts in the Park.
If you are looking for that perfect Christmas gift or a new piece of art, then this is just the day for you. With everything from handmade jewellery to garden art, woodturning to knitting, there is sure to be something for everyone.
As well as the various arts and craft stalls there will be a kid’s zone including free face painting and games. Taranaki Kidz Kartz will be there again this year offering pony rides and you might even be able to get involved in a scavenger hunt.
Various performers will fill the park with music to keep you entertained throughout the day as well as roving entertainment to keep the kids preoccupied while you shop. Have a seat, pick up something to eat and soak up the vibe.
South Taranaki Arts Coordinator Michaela Stoneman will be on hand in the Arts Tipi, a creative space for some fun hands-on activities. This year the activities will have an environmental theme and is free for all ages throughout the day.
This free event runs from 10am – 3pm on Saturday 5 December at King Edward Park, Hāwera. If the weather is not suitable on the day the event will be taken indoors to TSB Hub.
