Temporary Road Closures

The work to install a new watermain along Turuturu Road as part of the Longview Subdivision and to improve the town’s water network and firefighting capacity was delayed and is due to start again on Thursday 25 August.

What’s happening?

We are installing a new watermain from the Glover Road intersection for 600 metres along Turuturu Road to the subdivision. It requires connection to an existing water supply main on the west side of Glover Road with a second connection to the existing supply main adjacent the subdivision. At the same time, significant construction work is needed to under bore and install new services that have to pass under the rail crossing on Turuturu Road.

Construction crews will be working in this area between the hours of 6:30am to 6:00pm.

How will this work affect me?

To complete the construction work for the watermain we need to close off the south bound lane on Turuturu Road between Fantham Street and the Glover Road intersection from 6:30am to 6:00pm weekdays only from 25 August – 16 September 2022 (with the occasional weekend included).
