UPDATE: Unexpected Hāwera Water Outage

UPDATE:

We have identified a major water leak on the watermain running into Hāwera on Glover Road. Staff have isolated the leak. We have turned on the pumps and are supplying the town from the reservoir.

Water should be returning to properties over the next 30 minutes. However, it may be at reduced pressure and could be slightly discoloured. The water has been treated and is safe to drink, however if you have any concerns, you can boil it before using it.

We expect the water supply to be fully restored later this evening, but we will keep you updated with any developments.
