Review of Freedom Camping Bylaw 2016

Due to the introduction of the Self-contained Motor Vehicles Legislation Act 2023 and amendments to the Freedom Camping Act 2011, Council has undertaken a review of the Freedom Camping Bylaw 2016. Changes have been made to align with legislation and update the areas where people can and cannot freedom camp in the South Taranaki District.

The revised Freedom Camping Bylaw 2016 was adopted at a Council meeting on Wednesday 25 September 2024 and will come into effect from 1 November 2024.
