Natural Environments Fund
The South Taranaki District Council will soon be accepting applications for our Natural Environments Fund.
The purpose of this Fund is to promote the protection, restoration and enhancement of areas of significant indigenous biodiversity or fauna on private land throughout the District.
“Many of the remaining indigenous species and ecosystems in our District are under threat. This Fund encourages private landowners to work alongside us, and other agencies, to help protect and enhance these significant areas,” says Environment and Sustainability Manager Rebecca Martin.
Applications to the Natural Environments Fund open on 1 August and close on Monday 13 September at 5pm.
“Full details on the available funding, conditions and eligibility are in Council’s Community Funding Policy and we recommend you read this carefully before applying,” says Rebecca. “The Fund is open for individuals, trusts, incorporated societies and other groups.”
This Fund aligns with the goals and outcomes in Council’s newly adopted Environment and Sustainability Strategy and our Long Term Plan.
The application form and eligibility criteria can be found on the Council’s website here.
