Proposed Closure of Camberwell Road, Hāwera (Between Stan Lay and Surrey Street)

Hāwera’s new combined school, Te Paepae o Aotea have asked Council to temporarily close a section of Camberwell Road, between Stan Lay and Surrey Street, during school terms from 8.30am to 3.30pm. The reason is for safety of students crossing the road from Bayly Park to the main school site.

The Council is considering this request and would like to hold a community meeting with the school and residents.

Objections can be submitted to the Council before Monday 23 January 2023. A hearing is scheduled for Tuesday 31 January. Please indicate on your submission whether you would like to speak at the Hearing. Please email your objection through to becky.wolland@stdc.govt.nz
