Waverley

Halfway along State Highway 3 between Hāwera and Wanganui lies Waverley, South Taranaki District’s southern most town. Waverley offers visitors a wide variety of adventures and experiences to get your heart pumping or help you enjoy some rest and relaxation. The shopping centre has retail and service outlets as well as a supermarket, service station, café, takeaway bar and library.

A quick detour off the main road will take you to Waverley Beach, renown for its interesting rock stacks and caves and where the fishing and offshore reef diving offers some of the best in New Zealand.

Just five minutes from town you can water ski, kayak or swim at Lupton’s Lake or enjoy the 18 hole Waverley golf course further down the road. Walkways along the beaches and clifftops allow you to explore a unique and diverse environment.
